Bangalore, IT and the startup hub of India, offers several opportunities for career growth and has attracted the young population to shift base to Bangalore. However, deciding on the best locality to stay can be a challenge and we hope to help Gen Z with a list of options to choose from.

Marathahalli

It is connected to all the major areas of Bangalore and quite popular too. It is known as the gateway of Bangalore and the rents are affordable as well as reasonable for the facilities it provides.

Indiranagar

A posh and relatively costly area to live in, Indiranagar is home to many startups making it a favourable place to rent a flat. It is situated in the heart of the city and hosts a number of pubs, parks, gyms and hospitals.

Jayanagar

The city’s cultural and historic significance is reflected in this area. If you like greenery, single-storey houses and wide tree-lined streets, this is the locality for you! The thing to note here is that rents are slightly higher.

Whitefield

Whitefeld is known as the IT hub of the city and is well connected to the other areas of Bangalore. The area hosts tech parks, shopping complexes and amazing residential options. If you consider proximity to your workplace, then this might be your choice.

HSR layout

HSR stands for Hosur Sarjapur Road and it is the most recently developed residential area of Bangalore. It offers you a safe, calm and green environment. The area has all the basic facilities, hosts many startups and the rents are nominal.

Koramanagala

Situated in South Bangalore this area hosts many modern and upscale residential spaces making it expensive. However, there are affordable PGs in the area. It is considered one of the best residential areas in Bangalore comprising many famous party joints, shopping malls and restaurants.

Electronic City

The name gives it away! Electronic City hosts some of India’s largest electronic industrial parks. 200+ IT companies have their offices here including big names like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc. If you are a bachelor looking for a place to live, Electronic city might be one of your best choices. The rents are affordable and if you work in the IT industry , this is your place to be.

A good way to start might be to try the co-living spaces in Bangalore. Some of the co-living spaces in Bangalore include:

These co-living spaces are usually spread across different areas providing options at multiple different locations.

Hope we helped in making a choice! If you'd like to suggest any changes to the  post, feel free to do that here.

Bangalore means a lot to many people. Some started their career in the city, some called it their home, and for someone, it was an experience they wanted to take. From an outside perspective, Bangalore has been tagged with a few things. Let me walk you through some of  the tags Bangalore is associated with.

The City of Gardens

Bangalore is the third greenest city in India. However, close to 250 years ago, Bangalore was a barren land depicted in history with sand and granite rocks. Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan contributed to the city being named the City of Gardens by developing the Lal Bagh Garden. Bangalore is home to 1,247 developed parks.

The Silicon Valley of India

Bangalore is booming with tech businesses and hence the city hosts many techies. It was named the Silicon valley of India as Bangalore hosts around 5500 IT companies. Good connectivity, installed power capacity of 29825 MW of the city and strong higher education infrastructure that provides the manpower has made this possible.

Startup Hub of India

Along with being the IT Hub of India, Bangalore also is the startup hub of India. It hosts over 8000 startups established from 2004. The city also has 14 unicorns. Bangalore is also home to 40% of tech startups founded since 2016.

The city with favorable weather

Bangalore enjoys pleasant weather all throughout the year with the temperatures not being too low or high. With the highest temperature being 33° C to 15° C on an average, the city enjoys rains and overall lovely weather. And that is why the rage for Bangalore weather echoes in the whole country.

Traffic Jam

Bangalore's traffic is well-known. All the jokes and traveling to the airport feeling like traveling to another city is all true. As much as the city is lovely, the jam is not. There are hours spent commuting from one place to another. The traffic also means continuous pollution. The infrastructure of the city needs to be in sync otherwise we could imagine what would happen to the city’s lovely weather if the pollution continues.

Bangalore is a lot of things and can be described in many ways but this is our list and what we feel makes Bangalore a diverse culture and an ever-growing city. Let us know what you think! If you'd like to suggest any changes to the  post, feel free to do that here.

Bangalore is known for its pleasant weather throughout the year. People who live in Bangalore take pride in the weather the city provides and people who live outside of it want to witness all the rage about the Bangalore weather. The city experiences a tropical savanna climate, which means that it has a dry season and a rainy season.

Spring

Let us begin with the pleasant season. Spring is one of the most comfortable weather in the city despite the temperature rising. The season usually lasts from March to May with the highest temperature being 33° Celsius and the lowest being 19-20° C at night. The city can also witness rains during this season. The thing to watch out for is the Cherry Blossoms!

Summer

The summer season starts from June and goes on till August. Summer in Bangalore as opposed to other cities, starts with a drop when compared to spring. The daily temperature is usually 20-28°C in June and then the temperature drops to 19-26° C in July. The temperature remains constant until the month of October. The city witnesses slight precipitation in all these months. In late August the rainfall increases due to the monsoon approaching but still we can call it moderate rains.

Autumn

The months of September and October are peak rainy seasons. The city witnesses rain showers daily and the precipitation reaches up to 150mm. The showers last for a couple of hours a day. The frequent showers do cause high air humidity but due to the temperature being moderate the air is fresh. The temperature stays between 17° C to 25° C the highest being 28° C.

Winters

Although the city has low temperature all throughout the year, even in summers, winters stay between 15-16° C during the winter months i.e December to February. It is dry winter season with almost no rain showers. The temperature starts getting higher when we near February and can reach up to 29° C.

People love the Bangalore weather because of its pleasant and moderate temperatures throughout the year. The city is known for its cool and breezy weather, which makes it an ideal place for people to live in. Additionally, the city has a good balance of sunny and rainy days, which makes it an ideal place for people who love to spend time outdoors.

How many times have you seen a meme about the Bengaluru airport commute? About hundreds of them, right? And it is true, traveling to the Bangalore airport does feel like you are traveling to a different city.

Flight tickets sometimes feel cheaper than the fare given to commuting to the airport. However, if you know the options it is not that bad.

BMTC Vayu Vajra express

An airport shuttle service with an Rs.350 (the maximum fare you would have to give) is a convenient way to travel to Bangalore airport. The highest fare for the bus is valued like that as it covers an area of almost 72 KMS from Chandapura and KIA. If you wanted to take a cab, it would have cost thrice or five times the amount.

Suburbans trains

For as low as Rs.35, you can travel to the airport and can reach within an hour if you commute via train. This is a very convenient way to travel as it saves you from the Bangalore traffic. There are 5 stations you can catch these trains from, and they are:

Commuting to Bangalore Airport - A guide
Commuting to Bangalore Airport - A guide
Commuting to Bangalore Airport - A guide
Commuting to Bangalore Airport - A guide
Commuting to Bangalore Airport - A guide

These trains operate throughout the week except for Sunday. The best part? The airport provides free travel from the Halt station to the airport.

Cabs

If you still want to go by taxi, you can get local taxis or book from taxi services like Uber, Ola, Easycabs, etc. But when you travel to the airport via taxis, toll charges apply to you.

For traveling via road, you can take up these routes:

  • Commuters from Indiranagar, old Airport Road, Koramangala, Electronic city, Hosur Road/Silk Board junction, and central Bangalore can take the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Nagawara, then take a right turn to Thanisandra, go straight, take a left near Bagalur Cross, and head straight towards Bellary Road on a 4 lane road from Nagawara. This route is about 26km and takes about 40 minutes to reach the airport.
  • For those coming via Trinity junction, an alternative route is available by heading towards Ulsoor lake, Naga theatre, Coles Park, Haj camp, Nandidurg road, Jayamahal, Mekhri circle, and then taking the Hebbal flyover. This route is longer than the Nagawara-Thanisandra route and is not recommended for these commuters.
  • Commuters can also take the Hennur Cross - Begur route, which is about 27 km and takes around 55 minutes to reach the airport.

Overall, the trains and buses serve as a good option to travel to and fro from the Bangalore airport as it saves you from the hassle of planning and also the chances of being late, missing your flight, or leaving your home way earlier than your flight.

Biryani is a popular rice dish in South Asia. The exact origins of biryani are not clear, but it is believed to have been influenced by the traditional Persian dish called "pilaf," which was introduced to the Indian subcontinent by the Mughals during their rule in the region.

The word "biryani" is derived from the Persian word "birinj," which means "rice." The dish is made with a variety of ingredients, including spices, meat or vegetables, and rice, which are cooked together and often served with a side of raita, a type of yogurt-based sauce.
